Rotary International is one of the world's most structured organizations, where people unite and take action to make MAGIC OF ROTARY in the world. Rotarians worldwide have used their passion, intelligence and energy to take action to create long standing change through many sustainable projects.
The success of any such organization like Rotary International is only because of the seriousness amongst its members to imbibe and share vast information about Rotary and its basics.
While a new Rotary year often signals transition, it does not mean we have to abandon the foundation that makes our clubs who they are. In fact, we should build upon the foundation and progress made by our outgoing leaders and the leaders and members who have helped us to get to where we are today.
Continuity in terms of working together year after year to reach long term goals is what helps clubs be vibrant and healthy.
As we begin a new year of service, let us not forget the importance of every one of Rotary's members.
We need your leadership now more than ever if we are to make every club and district an irresistible experience.
Rotary has a chance to capture the world's attention and realize possibilities beyond our expectations. But we must build on the work that has come before us if we are to reach our goals, such as defeating polio and unlocking the power of girls and women.
Rotary offers people of action a chance to connect and find belonging, and this fellowship gives us the potential to improve our communities and the world. By following Rotary's Action Plan and helping make sure all members feel a sense of belonging in their club, you have a special opportunity to inspire members to new heights of service.
Our ability to create lasting change begins with our family of Rotary. Together, it is within our power to bring healing in a divided world.
Sixty-seven million children worldwide have no access to education and more than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate.
We carry out service projects that enhance economic and community development and develop opportunities for decent and productive work for young and old
We aim to improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in under developed areas.
Sixty-five million people are displaced by armed conflict or persecution, and 90 percent of armed-conflict casualties are civilians, half of them children.
More than 2.5 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation facilities. At least 3,000 children die each day from diarrheal diseases caused by unsafe water.
At least 7 million children under the age of five die each year due to malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation.
